Price Chopper – Food Illustrations

Long before digital photography was developed, Price Chopper Supermarkets used product illustrations to help advertise the products provided by their merchandisers.

My illustration career began with this account, based in their Schenectady, NY headquarters.

The first product illustrations were created in pen and ink for black and white production. After several years, they eventually switched to color printing for the in-store printed flyers, and the product illustrations required converting over to color illustrations.

Over the years, I illustrated thousands of products – everything from canned and boxed packaging, raw and cooked foods, produce, montages, and so much more.

Below are just a few of my color illustrations, produced in traditional mediums such as: watercolor, colored pencils, airbrushed dyes, guache and acrylic paint.
